HUNTING ACTIVITIES

All hunting activities are taught by experienced Texas professionals.

Deer Hunting - Whitetail are certainly the centerpiece of Texas hunting. Outdoor Texas will spend sufficient time to provide a strong, complete base of knowledge in the art of deer hunting. Rifle and Archery hunting will be covered as well as all of the hunting techniques used to take the often elusive whitetail. Learn about what they eat and why, where they live, their travel habits and the all important "Rut". Learn how to use the deer senses (smell, sight, & hearing) to your advantage. Aging and scoring a deer will also be part of the lessons to learn. Each camper will know more that 99% of all the deer hunters in Texas.

Shotgunning - Taught by a real professional, Outdoor Texas campers will be busting clay targets at a rate that will be hard to believe. Multiple instruction seesions with trap, skeet and sporting clays ensure the success of each and every camper.

Predator Calling - This camp activity is always a favorite, as not many of our campers have experience with predator calling.

Camping, Survival & First Aid - Outdoor Texas will provide each camper a strong foundation on what to do if you're lost, caught in extreme weather, or if you're injured or ill. Basic camping skills will be covered as well as what to do when problems arise. Each camper will receive his own first aid kit and will be trained on how to use it.

Kayaking & Boating - One of the hottest activities in the Texas outdoors is kayaking. The lakes of Stoney Creek provide the perfect place for hands-on instruction and fun. As with all Outdoor Texas activities, safety is first and foremost.

Riflery & Archery - The in-depth instruction given in these popular activities will improve skills while ensuring safety. Both will be taught with a goal of achieving hunting expertise.

Bird Hunting - Texas is rich in bird hunting heritage, and Outdoor Texas follows that tradition, covering duck, quail, dove, goose and turkey hunting. Hunting locations, techniques and needed equipment will be taught in relationship to each bird species. The use of a turkey call will be just one of the subjects covered.

Laser Shot - This is a great indoor activity for the campers. Laser shot is used extensively in shotgun and rifle training. The camp tournaments are a huge favorite at Outdoor Texas.
